This outdoor tour starts from Piazza Dante, where a local guide will wait for you to start this journey in the beautiful city of Naples. Then the group will move to Piazza Bellini, the gateway to the ancient center and where a stretch of the city walls from the Greek era is still visible; we will walk along the ancient Decumano Maggiore (better known as Via dei Tribunali), a bustling street lined with pizzerias, shops, and historic buildings. A visit to Naples cannot be said to be complete if you do not stop at the Cathedral of Naples, the Duomo, where you will learn about San Gennaro, patron saint  and protector of Naples this miracoulous blood.
Now it is time to walk for the famous “Spaccanapoli“, the oldest and most famous streets in Naples, with a history that dates back to the ancient Greek and Roman eras that led you to San Gregorio Armeno, a district famous for the Neapolitan Nativity scene and where the city’s artisans work; streets with buildings that almost seem to touch each other and where the smell of meat sauce or coffee is a constant.
We will use the churches as passages to reach different points of the neighborhood full of stories, cults and popular legends! You will know about one of the main freneticc place in the historic center, Piazza San Domenico Maggiore, with its buildings full of history and an amazing obelisk at its centre. The tour will end in Piazza del Gesù Nuovo, an impressive example of Baroque architecture with his Church with a distinctive facede made of tuff, a type of volcanic rock.

Stop 1

Piazza Dante

The Free Tour of Naples starts next Dante statue in Piazza Dante. Just look for the team with YELLOW umbrella. Metro stop: DANTE M1 - yellow line.
Stop 2

Piazza Bellini

Learn about the the Greek foundation of Naples (or "Neapolis", new city in acient greek) next to defensive walls of the V b.C. Let the guide you throught the centuries to the modern Naples.

Via Tribunali

A bustling street lined with pizzerias, shops, and historic buildings. Along the way, you could stop at the Church of Santa Maria delle Anime del Purgatorio ad Arco, which is decorated with skulls and other macabre symbols.

San Gregorio Armeno

This famous street was once home to a temple dedicated to Ceres, a Roman Goddess. People would buy small figurines made in nearby shops to the temple. The tradition continues today as this street became famous for artists that create figurines for Nativity scenes or more moderns figurines like footbal players or politicians. Lucky visitors might see the artists at work carving out the next figurine.

Duomo Cathedral

Duomo di Napoli is also known as The Cathedral of the Assumption of Mary. The church, dated 14 century, is commonly called Cattedrale di San Gennaro in honor of Saint Januarius, the patron of the city.Infact this stunning medieval cathedral holds the miraculous blood of Saint Januarius and an early Christian basilica dating to the 4th century. It's place where tourists can admire Italian art and architecture and appreciate the local religious culture.

Piazza San Domenico Maggiore

Take in the atmosphere while admiring the surrounding buildings, which are some of the city’s finest. This square is the home of the Church of San Domenico Maggiore and an amazing Obelisk.
